This is fast going to become our favourite restaurant when we come up to the Central Coast. Double points because it’s dog friendly! Food, service and atmosphere were top class and the location is hard to beat.

As a visitor to the Central Coast we felt the need for good quality food in the early evening at a venue which was also dog friendly. Google Maps lead us to The Box on the Water at Ettalong Beach. What a find! This restaurant has an inside table area, a row of outside tables (dog friendly) and access to a line of beach style recliners at which you can enjoy a drink or food. The view across the bay is gorgeous. Although there were a range of interesting options, we opted for fish and chips. Almost anywhere can do fish and chips, often badly. We had that experience a well known pub. The fish and chips here however are great example of what happens when a good chef produces the dish. The fish and chips were the best I have had for a long time. Good quality fish fillets, perfectly cooked and great chips, all elegantly plated. This is a basic formula really - good produce and skilled kitchen staff with a eye for detail. The Box will certainly be on our return list for the Central Coast. I have one observation of what can happen even at a good restaurant. The venue was busy although I note the food came out quite quickly as did the drinks. My wife and I finished our meal with a macchiato for me and a hot chocolate for her. Both came out quite cool and not great. Clearly, the barista made them and they cups sat there for a while until a waiter got around to delivering them to us. Pay attention guys. Despite this, I look forward to returning.

Amazing location right on the water in a quiet little bay. Excellent atmosphere and just perfect to watch the sun go down. Great menu (seafood) but with some other options if you don't like fish.

This tiny little nook has a delicious menu suiting to all tastes and desires!! It’s a very small crew working really hard in a tiny kitchen! But the wait is very much worth it. Enjoy the coffe and juices are lovely, and the hamburger is absolutely sensational!

What a beautiful location for a restaurant. The weather today was perfect. We had an amazing meal. The waitress was so friendly and efficient. My friends shared their meals but nothing was too much trouble. We could also split the bill at the end. Great last meal for our girlfriend weekend get together.

I love coming here for an early dinner and watching the sunset. The food and wine are excellent. The specials are always worth ordering. The atmosphere is lively and it’s great to be able to sit outside and bring your dog along. I eat here every time I come up to Ettalong Beach.

Great little spot on the water. Friendly staff, happy to have a chat to make you feel welcome. We had the hot seafood platter for two. All well cooked and tasty, and a generous serving size. Be sure to book at peak times as it gets busy. Enjoy!

Fantastic meals and fantastic service with a smile. Wait staff were extremely attentive, the food was delicious and the staff ensured all our needs were met. The view was beautiful. Highly recommended.
